Project description
Artwork transport and storage services for Le Parvis.
This particular transport took place during Halloween and the Day of the Dead. These were no ordinary sculptures: they incorporated genuine animal skeletons. The driver spent the night in the truck alongside the carefully secured artworks during mandatory rest stops. Fortunately, none of the skeletons—or mummies—escaped into the car park during the night.
The destination was Le Parvis, a national cultural venue and contemporary art centre near Tarbes. I worked with Le Parvis for approximately eight years, providing transport and logistics services for demanding exhibition projects.
Each operation was complex and required detailed planning. Before delivery, we often collected works from at least six different locations in Paris and elsewhere in France. Our services included condition checks before collection, professional packing with our own protective materials and custom boxes, transport and delivery, and, when required, storage. Some projects also involved transporting artworks from Brussels to Tarbes.
The timing and artworks documented in these photographs correspond to the Le Parvis group exhibition La profonde alliance, presented from 11 November 2021 to 15 January 2022.
