Project description
Sculpture installation in the atelier of Théo Mercier.
The photograph shows me personally working on the installation of one of Théo's sculptures in his studio. This type of assignment required more than transport: it demanded technical knowledge, careful handling, an understanding of the artist's intentions and precise installation work.
Théo Mercier is a French multidisciplinary artist and stage director whose practice moves between sculpture, installation, photography, theatre, dance and performance. He creates imaginative environments from unexpected objects and materials, exploring the relationships between history, archaeology, nature and contemporary culture.
His work has been presented internationally. He was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome, was nominated for the Prix Marcel Duchamp and received the Silver Lion at the Venice Dance Biennale with Steven Michel.
I began working with Théo during the early years of my company, and our collaboration continued for approximately eight years. We supported his projects with transport, storage, packing, technical assistance and artwork installation.
